Can I use 'X' Garmin device with GTFO courses?
All GTFO courses are compatible with Garmin Connect. (More info in the link below – hint all Garmin Devices are compatible with Garmin Connect 😉 )
I have bought a course and it still has not shown up on my watch. What should I do?
We are so sorry you are experiencing technical issues! First, check the following:
- Can you see the course in your Garmin Connect?
- Have you checked the Garmin website and FAQ to troubleshoot how to make sure your watch is syncing with Garmin Connect?
- Have you checked the Garmin website on how to see if a course is on your watch?

Can I see aid stations in my GTFO course?
No – due to current limitations with the Garmin API we cannot add aid stations or other waypoints to the courses we curate and send to your watch. However, keep an eye out, we may have an update on this front soon!
What do I do if my watch deviates from the race flagging
Please check the race rules. There is no real consensus on this, though generally you should follow flagging, as last-minute course changes are often made for safety reasons (ie, a bridge or trail washed out or there’s deep snow on the course, for example). Also, sometimes flaggers will take the wrong route (it happens) to get to the same destination.
Does GTFO offer “test courses” that I could go try on my watch in my local area before I decide to buy?
We probably should! Our team is exploring a “try before you buy” option – a 1-2 mile course near the race start-finish in a town nearby to see if our courses are right for you. Check back in with us soon for more updates!
