STEP ONE:

Loading the Course onto My Watch

Step-by-Step Video Summary:

  1. Log into your Garmin Connect account on your Desktop
  2. Go to “Training and Planning” in the Left Hand Menu
  3. Select “Courses”
  4. You can Filter, Sort, or Search for the name of the Course you want
  5. Click the Course to preview the Course on a Map
  6. Click “Send to Device” from either the “Courses” Menu or the “Map” screen
  7. Select which Device(s) to which you want to Send your Course
  8. Sync your Device with your Garmin Connect Account

STEP TWO:

Starting my Course on my Watch:

  1. From your Watch Face, select “Trail Run” with a quick press of the right upper button
    (DO NOT START THE RUN YET)
  2. Press and hold (long press) the left middle button to open the Trail Run Menu
  3. Scroll down to Navigation
  4. Select Navigation with a quick press of the right upper button
  5. In the Navigation menu scroll to Courses and select with a quick press of the right upper button
  6. Scroll to your desired Course and select with a quick press of the right upper button
  7. Select “Do Course” with a quick press of the right upper button
  8. The Course will begin loading.  Time to load will depend on the size of the Course.
  9. Begin the Course with a quick press of the right upper button

STEP THREE:

Enabling "Turn by Turn" and "Off Course" Prompts:

If you want Turn-By-Turn AND Off Course PROMPTS, do this BEFORE STARTING THE COURSE:

(If you haven’t changed your default settings, you may not need to follow this step.)

  1. From your Watch Face, long press the left middle button to navigate to the Menu
  2. Scroll down and select Navigation with a quick press of the right upper button
  3. Scroll down and select Alerts with a quick press of the right upper button
  4. Scroll down to Off Course set to ON.  (Indicator changes from WHITE to GREEN when switched from OFF to ON)
  5. Scroll to Turn Prompts and set to ON.  (Note, the algorithm considers a switchback a turn, so you may consider this feature a distraction unless you are in unfamiliar terrain.)
  6. Exit that screen by pressing the bottom right button, backing all the way out to the Main Menu
  7.
